Drone Zone — unmanned aviation operations

Drone Zone is where unmanned aviation on JobAvion lives: the regulatory picture, the airspace picture, and the operators and clients who need to find each other for commercial work.

Knowing where you can legally fly

European member states publish geographical zones that restrict, prohibit or condition UAS flight — around aerodromes, over sensitive infrastructure, inside nature reserves and in temporary restricted areas. These zones are not optional guidance; flying into one without the required authorisation is a regulatory breach with real consequences.

Drone Zone brings zone awareness into the same place as the rest of the operation, so checking whether a job is flyable is part of planning it rather than a separate research exercise.

Open, Specific and Certified

  • Open — low risk, no prior authorisation, strict operational limits by subcategory
  • Specific — risk assessment plus operational authorisation, or a Standard Scenario
  • Certified — highest risk operations, certified aircraft and licensed remote pilot

Interference and reliability

GNSS interference and jamming have become a practical operational concern across parts of Europe, affecting position reliability for crewed and uncrewed aircraft alike. Operators planning survey or inspection work need to account for it in the same way they account for weather — as a factor that can make an otherwise straightforward flight unsafe.

Commercial UAS work

Clients commissioning drone work need to verify that the operator is registered, insured, competent and authorised for the specific operation. Operators need to be findable by the clients looking for exactly what they can legally do. JobAvion holds those credentials on the operator profile and connects the two sides directly.
